H.E.G. Neurofeedback
Hemoencephalography or HEG neurofeedback is sometimes also referred to as Near infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy or Functional Near Infrared (fNir). It is a technique using near infrared light to measure brain blood oxygen levels, and use the information as feedback to the user. This is a completely unique form of
neurofeedback that is separate and different from EEG Biofeedback.
HEG (Hemoencephalography) neurofeedback is an effective, non-invasive, drug-less training method
useful for many conditions that respond to the activation of the brain’s surface (cortex). The frontal
lobes are uniquely addressed using HEG, The frontal lobes control executive function of the brain.
HEG is being used increasingly by professionals tired of being burdened by the variety of
instrumental difficulties and complex treatment protocols inherent in the EEG neurofeedback concept.
This technique uses a simple headband with no electrodes or gooey gel.
It has been found to enhance brain function in half the time of more tradional EEG-based systems.
