Getting Started with Neurotherapy
To get started with BrainAdvantage Neurotherapy, call our office at (480) 240-2600.

We do an Initial Assessment on all our patients so we can customize the training to your needs.
We provide a medical evaluation, with review of medical records and recommendations for healthy diet, and for metabolic and/or allergy testing if appropriate. We test brain function using the treatment modalities described below, all of which give measurable and recordable results. In addition, we use standard tests of attention and cognition in common use in the field of neurodevelopment. We also test eye convergence and reading ability. If deficits are found, we refer to a developmental optometrist for additional work.
The Initial Assessment includes:
  • T.O.V.A. (Tests of Variables of Attention)
  • CANS-MCI Testing for Mild Cognitive Impairment
  • Eye Convergence Testing
  • Sensory Integration, Visual and Auditory Processing
  • Brain Speed testing
  • Neuromotor Skills testing
  • Brain Blood Oxygen Baseline
  • Questionnaires
  • Complete Medical Evaluation
  • Diet, Allergy and Nutritional Evaluation
  • Overview of Medications
  • Whole-body Thermography
  • Medication and Nutrition Management

qEEG Brain Mapping is also available.

The Initial Assessment is a comprehensive look at the entire body. It typically takes from 3-4 hours. A complete written report is included.

We repeat the assessments at the mid-point of the sessions, as well as at the end. Results have consistently shown significant improvement, even at the mid-point. And by the end of the treatment sequence, the gains appear to be permanent, not requiring further therapy. Since we are helping the brain to develop its maximal ability to function, we are not so concerned with specific defects as we are with healthy neural functioning. The brain appears to be very good at picking out what it needs from the treatment, and focusing on those areas in which function is deficient. We have seen no untoward effects using these therapies, and have seen universal improvement in objective measurements of function.

  • About Neurotherapy
After evaluation and testing, neurotherapy appointments are scheduled in blocks of 20 appointments. Ideally, sessions should be completed at least three times weekly but can vary depending on your schedule. You should expect to undergo a minimum of 20 sessions to see tangible results, as there is a cumulative benefit. Although most people only need 20 sessions, there are instances where 30-40 provide more benefit. Subsequent neurofeedback training is billed separately from the initial evaluation and baseline testing process.

    • Medical Evaluation
All patients have a complete medical evaluation including an overview of allergies and nutrition.

    • qEEG Assessments
If a qEEG is deemed necessary, preparation for a qEEG assessment (Brain Map) will be explained prior to appointment.
